Sunday

Rice surprise at lunch in Manila recently. (Have used pics from my recent travels as I've been mostly abed since returning to Oz on Saturday morn.)

Saturday

"Toe Knee" - according to the badge this young man is wearing (as snapped in San Ramon, US, recently).

Friday

For the person with everything - or at least an iPod - Karaoke.

Thursday

MBK, Bangkok - and the mystery of Pinocchio's disappearance has now been solved! I am still unclear how he came to be on a stall selling Thai souvenirs though.

Wednesday

UAT testing the new corporate extranet site for AP in Bangkok. Note how excited young P is (and not just because he has recently become engaged. Congratulations!)

Tuesday

Near MBK Shopping Centre, Bangkok.

Monday

The Steak House, Bangkok.

Sunday

Sunrise in Bangkok and the start of a new day. (If you've a mind to, take a moment to relish your partner, your family, your friends, your pets, your pals ... you get the idea.)

Saturday

It's the equivalent of a public holiday in Bangkok today, so there wasn't much traffic. Seriously, the drive from the airport to the hotel took half the usual time (30 minutes instead of an hour) which left us plenty of time to go shopping (watch for a post on this on the Musings blog soon).

Friday

Airport transit lounge - Hong Kong - last week.

Thursday

Sing out anybody who has an idea of what I did this evening. Anyone who guessed Karaoke can stay. It was, simply, amazing, on so many levels.

Wednesday

This is how my socks and smalls came back from the laundry today. This is probably premium service because I certainly don't get this at home.

Tuesday

Group dinner following a day of training. Venue: an Italian restaurant in the Greenbelt complex. (Alas, it seems the person who took the photo may have been drinking because it appears a little blurred - which is a shame since everybody had followed instruction and was looking at the camera.)

Monday

I know I want to blame the new suitcase for the sprained wrist, but it was really my own fault - and it's not too bad - just painful when I turn it to the side. Luckily there's a company doctor on site and I was able to have it seen to, strapped, and some painkillers prescribed. And, I can still type - although hand-writing is a bit more difficult!

Saturday/Sunday

Before travelling with the new suitcase, purchased in San Ramon (the last time I was in San Francisco), I took a photo in case I had trouble identifying it at the other end. (Now, really, it doesn't look that big and/or heavy does it?)

Friday

This is the highway you cross on the way to Corporate Headquarters in California - if you're walking. The traffic lights give you 30 seconds to get across the 9 lanes. (I am not admitting getting stuck on the traffic island the last time I was here.)

Thursday

Being a long-time fan of "bed goes up / bed goes down" imagine my joy at finding this: "desk goes up / desk goes down". It's a great idea actually - and I wouldn't mind one in the home office. Benefit - you can work standing up.

Wednesday

You'll need to look at this full-size to read the fine print - and still there's- no answer to that age old question. How long after use date is yoghurt good for? Does yoghurt spoil?

Tuesday

Looking tidy only because I've just arrived home from the office and not yet had time or opportunity to mess it up.

Monday

This really doesn't do it justice - and it would make more sense if you could make out the icon on the small blue sign upper left: it's a cigarette. This is a smoking enclosure within Hong Kong's airport. It was the only one I saw but I suspect there are others. And given how far you have to go to the gates here ... you can understand why people may not be able to just "slip outside" for this.

Saturday/Sunday (2)

It certainly is the month for birthdays! When I arrived at the hotel yesterday there was a birthday party in progress with a group of very excited children. Later, this trolley was waiting outside the room for collection. Mmmm sprinkles and ice cream.

Saturday/Sunday (1)

Happy Birthday Gemini folk (especially you SPD and you too W).

Friday

View from the Philppines office window. Judging by the comments from the locals, the mountain in the background is not often visible.

Thursday

This image may be disturbing to some, so you'll have to tilt your head to the left to see it! Dinner out with the Filipino colleagues included this special dish.

Wednesday

Enough said. (And should someone have been on hand to say "it's time to leave the stationery store?")

Tuesday

I was intrigued enough by this - seen from a distance - to want to know more. How on earth did they get the OFFLINE message on an ATM that was ... offline. Well, of course (d'oh) they did it the old-fashioned way ... almost ... with OFFLINE printed on paper and stuck over the screen.

Monday

We are not alone ... with the abundance of people needed to do "road work". I counted 7 workers and one supervisor (not in this pic) painting the lines on this pedestrian crossing in Manila.

Sunday

REY - the wonder car - has gone to live on a farm (or get an extreme makeover!)

Saturday

Devonshire Street Tunnel, Sydney.

Friday

It's a bit grainy but still worth a viewing - when we had dinner down at Circular Quay, they were projecting photos onto the southern pylon of the Harbour Bridge.
