Fluke. (Or was it?)
The problem: to identify the missing number in the sequence 1 8 27 _ 125 216. Was it 36, 45, 46, 64, 99?

Thursday

This pic could be better but is meant to show the tattoo, in Chinese characters, running down the back of this man's right leg. This was the first of two tattoos I saw on the way home. The other was of a woman with a lizard tattooed on the top of her foot.

Saturday

A man jumping around like an orangatan and then walking like an Egyptian. I was at the wrong angle to see if the children were responding and smiling for the young woman taking their photo at the Expressions Sessions booth at the Erina Fair shopping centre. (It was good that they asked me what I was up to as I tried unsuccessfully to capture that moment with my own camera. Shows they are aware of how dangerous a business they are in!)

Friday

STUDY ENGLISH proclaimed the sign in large letters on a plain background. It was carried by a young Asian woman in Chinatown. (If you could read the sign, would you need to study English?)

Thursday

On the side of a bus, an ad for guide dogs - with 1 dog and 30 canes and the assurance that for every guide dog they train thirty cane users. I do not understand.

Wednesday

Just when you thought it was safe to have lunch - nothing like a bunch of friendly looking critters to make you hungry. Not sure about the hamburger character!
Coming a close second today was the woman wearing a skimpy bikini bottom and lambswool waist-length coat with long sleeves, who got on the bus carrying a computer tower, put it on a seat, then got off the bus and came back on with a monitor. The two pieces took up the entire seat, so she sat on the tower (it was lying down) for a couple of stops, then off she went, taking the computer with her.

Tuesday

Look of stunned "what?" on the face of the man behind the counter at the convenience store when I handed back the $10 too much change he had given me.

The story so far ...

Last week my partner came home with news of someone at work (Michelle ... thank you!!) who had decided that they would take a photo a day. At the end of the year, they would have a pictorial record to look back on. It is, quite simply, a brilliant idea - and, as they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Monday 15 January:

A belated Christmas present from my Manager, six weeks in the delivering - all the way from the Collins Street Bakery in Texas. Fruit cake. Yumm.

Sunday 14 January:
Sooz looking at the society pages in the Sunday paper. lt reminds me of our conversation last year about how easy (or not) it would be to get yourself into the social pages.

Saturday 13 January:

A small addition to the wall of the doctors' surgery in Summer Hill, Sydney.

Friday 12 January:
A young African boy, sitting in the front passenger seat of the car, singing and laughing, and looking at his reflection in the left hand mirror.

Thursday 11 January: Pedestrians running across a busy road in front of a speeding fire engine.

Wednesday 10 January: A blood red sunset over the hills in the suburbs.
