Little by little, make that "box by box", I am getting my home office sorted. Homer is helping. Today, I was putting away the last of the "stuff" from this box, and when I turned back around, there he was. I couldn't help but be impressed - because the box was not fully on the desk and he could have toppled it, and him, off.

Tuesday

The ibis around Marrickville were out in force today and I was stunned to see a pair of them "tight-rope walking" across electricity lines spanning Marrickville Road. On balance, they did not look as though they were having a good time.

Monday

If I was at all concerned about liking telecommuting, this morning has helped sway me to the positive. Just before 9am the doorbell rang and it was a courier with a package for me ... Season 10 (final) for StarGate SG-1 - which was very exciting because I hadn't purchased one and can only figure that it was from a competition I had previously entered (or some kind person recognising my name on a database and sending me same). Either way - thanks!

Sunday

In the throes of cleaning up/out "my shed" today, I found a couple of things that had slipped from my mind ... my calligraphy practice pad; and the box from my Star Trek jigsaw puzzle - itself long gone now - but memorable for the fact that I had placed all but the last two pieces when my partner decided to help out - and taking the piece that belonged in the stars, she proceeded to pound it in to place - until I gently stopped her, and turned it the right way around so it would slip gently into position.

I'd never really taken time out to look at our national animal emblems adorning the Supreme Court Building in Sydney - because if I had, the eyes of the emu would have been cause for some alarm (even concern).

Thoughts of Queensland. On my recent trip I discovered my favourite fruit "barn" had closed, so I went to the one across the highway ... where they weren't sure if they were selling JAB or JAP pumpkins. (I am reliably informed that JAP means ... Just A Pumpkin.)

Welcome to the St Brigid's Church, Marrickville, affectionately know to locas as "The Mozzie Zapper" - this is actually one of the palm trees in the grounds which is home to a flock - perhaps more than one - of ibis (? plural).

Tuesday (after a long absence)

It's not often you find Kermit the Frog in your suburb ... but there he was, as large as life (which is odd really, because if he were a real frog, he would probably be a bit smaller).

I think this little fellow (and there were a whole heap of these banners lining both sides of the road in George Street, Sydney) is part of Art Express - but it's hard to know for sure.

This is my last day in the office, boxes packed, surfaces clear - and still the crane stands sentinel outside the window.

I visited Queensland recently and had an onion for lunch. I had some other things as well, but this was the onion on an onion plate.

Loose change will buy you a copy of The Daily Telegraph ... and some other things besides. I used my coin purse for most purchases for the best part of a week - until I finally had little more than 5c pieces left.

A family of ducks has taken up residence in our bathroom. Not quite sure when they arrived ... I noticed them this morning for the first time. They're cute, quiet, and they haven't yet rumbled with the cats.

Conservation is always a good thing ... and we did our best to keep the (herb) tree intact once it was placed atop the tor of poached egg.

The blue thing on the pillow is Tetris - a handheld video game - which has pride of place in this household.

I don't usually have non-kitchen items on the counter, but I was after a point of reference. This is not like those television commercials you see where they deceive viewers with the depth/perception. These new slippers, originally from the snow fields by the look of them, are the new weapon in the war against freezing feet. (They look quite attractive, don't they?)

We didn't find Nemo ... but what was the prawn's name? I'm not sure if this one would have made it through the night at the Chinese restaurant where this photo was taken.

It's not easy keeping cables under control - so I was very excited to get a handful of "post office rubber bands". Hopefully this will give me a break from inferior rubber bands snapping - and stinging!

If only I'd thought about this at the time it would have been a good opportunity to ask "are you a glass half full or glass half empty"-type of person - but since it isn't either (or is that "neither"), there's not much point.
